BlackFridaySale is one of the largest online sales in Europe. Within 24 hours, a well-known fashion and electronic brands offered great discounts and special deals. This webshop is an international project for the biggest online sale event, the “Black Friday Sale” in Russia, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Axisbits has worked on projects from Black Friday for several years.
The goal for BalckFriday team was to create good-looking e-commerce platform, able to handle an enormous amount of users at the same time. Also, we needed to create a landing page with the high conversion rate to attract clients and spread the word about Black Friday event.
For this huge e-commerce project, Axisbits has created a landing page and redesigned themes for mobile devices and desktop. For the back-end, we used PHP/Yii Framework and MySQL with caching to handle the high load during the event. We have developed a complex system for advertising banners and discount system, purchase of goods using Paypal. We used Sphinx for search functionality among huge amount of products. Also, we have implemented the import of products and have created an application for partners.

As a result, over 500 of the biggest E-commerce companies took part with selected offers and deals for 24 hours. Over 7 million unique visitors generated high user traffic for participating retailers. Conversion rates up to 15%, shopping basket values of 350€ and a massive increase in sales (average: +300% uplift).
